A versatile shirt combining relaxed fit with eye-catching details.

It features striking screen printed collar and cuffs, in patterns inspired by photographs of snow on heather and the dramatic cuffs, ruffs and lace collars of 16th and 17th century fashion.

Long cuffs with three button fastenings emphasise the unique print and create a strong, elegant look.

The shirt is made of black linen from Amothreads, a supplier of deadstock – fabric that has been leftover or rejected by a manufacturer or mill. This means it has some ‘flaws’: pale lines which cross the fabric here or there in a kind of marbling effect. I have embraced them as part of being a sustainable designer/maker. The linen hangs beautifully and has a subtle glossy texture.

The buttons are made of corozo, the nut of the Tagua palm tree. They are extremely strong and durable but ultimately biodegradable, unlike plastic buttons. They have a beautiful patina within them, from the grain of the nut. These buttons came from a supplier called Textile Garden.
